Books for Newborns partners with organizations that promote literacy and serve low-income mothers and their newborns in some important way.

We only partner with an organization when we are financially capable of living up to our commitment to provide book bags as needed. Partnerships are determined based solely on need, never by our partner’s ability to pay for our book bags.

Our hospital-based partnerships currently include all four of the major hospitals in the City of St. Louis, the Sweet Babies organization which serves multiple hospitals in our region and Alton Memorial Hospital (BJC Healthcare) in Illinois.

Other organizations through which services are delivered include major area social work and patient support providers, including those listed here.

As a literacy organization we understand that multiple coordinated approaches to helping kids learn to read are the most effective way to instill a love of reading in children who need that to succeed in school and in life. So we are constantly expanding the network of effective fellow literacy organizations with whom we work.  Our collaborative efforts currently include the recognized literacy leaders shown below.
